'Too Cold for Olive Trees this Spring in Italy'

Help by the Ranger with Planting the Saplings Concerning our trees, unfortunately the weather didn't help us for the planting of oilive trees this year (2006)... it was rreally cold this spring, so we will try again next year, to plant Olive trees for the 'Spirit of the Trees 2012' project. However, every two years in Spring, pupils from Scuola Elementare G. Verdi - Salorno (IC Bassa Atesina) go into our natural park Monto Corno and plant a lot of young pines and firs, so that our woods will continue living.... This has been taking places since a long time ago (in the 1970's) and every two year the children of 4th ann 5th grade of our school and the German-speaking school, that we link with, gather together for a whole day of planting saplings in the forest with teachers, forest rangers, council members and the mayor. This is after having worked together throughout the schoolyear about tree life and so on. here are some pictures of the kids with their teachers, the rangers, the mayor and the council members
