A Rangoli pattern is a symmetrical pattern which is used by Sikh families to decorate their homes during festivals like Dwali. They are thought to bring good luck.

How to do it
What To Do

1. Cut the squared paper into a 20cm by 20cm square.

2. Using a pencil and a ruler divide the square into quarters.

3. Create a pattern in the top left hand quarter. Use straight lines drawn with a ruler.

4. Reflect the pattern on to the top right hand corner using the mirror. Then reflect the top half of your pattern onto the bottom two quarters.

5. Colour in your Rangoli pattern beautifully so that it is symmetrical in each square.

6. Rub out the pencil lines and go round with a dark coloured pen to make your rangoli pattern stand out.
