Sustainability
Sustainability is about preserving life on our planet. It means looking after human needs while preserving nature. If we live beyond nature’s means we will destroy our only home. So, how can we nurture the human race and care for nature. This project gives children a place to discuss, investigate and present their views on the most pressing issues facing our planet.
My Country
How we see the country in which we live is very personal. In this project, children give their perspectives on where they live. Seeing a country through the eyes of children offers a unique insight for children all over the world, helping to develop better international and intercultural understanding.
My Culture
We carry inherited cultures and traditions with us, no matter where in the world we live. They affect our daily lives and our friends, neighbours and relatives. In this project, children from around the world are building a rich archive of first hand, personal accounts about their cultures, traditions, religion, music, art and history.
Message for the Future
Children around the world share their hopes and dreams for the future in this exciting project. Children join in discussions on the issues closest to their hearts. You can see the emerging consensus of hopes and concerns for the world’s future expressed by children of many cultures in this global community of young learners.
Global Peace
Students in the UK, India and other countries are creating a Road Map to Peace in the Middle East. To help international governments, SchoolNet Global students present their ideas on how to promote and achieve lasting World Peace.
South Africa Link
Could you collect, sort and distribute recycled goods to communities in South Africa? Could you conduct an international survey of children's rights across the world? Children involved in the SSLinkS projects do all of this and more. This project helps children develop creative problem-solving skills, international and intercultural understanding.
Learning Together Online
An international group of education professionals, led by Intuitive Media, worked together on multilingual collaborative projects and developed a unique and valuable guide on how to make international collaborative projects work.
Spirit of the Trees 2012
Sprit of the Trees is an international tree planting project designed to link in with 2012 - capturing the spirit of the Olympic Games. Spirit of the Trees aims to involve 2012 schools from around the world to plant trees as a symbol of unity, collaboration and friendship. Children then record and publish their experiences to SchoolNet Global. Children from Canada, China, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Northern Ireland, Qatar, Scotland, USA and Zimbabwe are the first to get involved.
