5 Steps to Cyberspace
The SchoolNet publishing process takes students through five steps, which include research, organizing their findings, interpreting and preparing their content for the web, ensuring their content protects privacy and safety, getting approval and then publishing to the world.

1. Find Out
Students choose a project and plan their investigations. They research in the field and interview people in their communities, using the Interview Template to structure their questions.

2. Sort
Students collate, organize, interpret and edit the data they collect and decide how it should be presented to an Internet audience.

3. Create
Students create their pages with appropriate technology. They can prepare text in a word processor and paste it to their web pages. They capture images with cameras or scanners, save in Web format and upload to their private SchoolNet home pages.

4. Check
Students print their pages so interviewees can check their writing and sign an Approval Form to confirm they approve publication. Students check for copyright issues and to ensure their own safety and privacy.

5. Show
Students can now submit their work for publication to the worldwide Internet audience. There are three stages:
- Students tick a box on their web pages to tell their teachers they have finished.
- Teachers see the finished work on their own SchoolNet home pages. They check its suitability, tick to publish or return it to the student.
- Intuitive Media checks the work and sends it to the Gallery.
