Lithuanian Childhood Memories

Where can you read about the most significant times in the lives of children and find out about their most precious memories?

Children growing up in different countries across the world tell us about the best of times and the worst of times in their Early Childhood Memories projects.

Some of the most recent contributions have come from Lithuanian children. Mantas paints a beautiful picture of a childhood holiday spent by the sea, amongst the pine forests of Lithuania in his article called The Swing. He says, "Even now I can hear the waves, feel the soft wind breeze and smell the pines." He was only three years old at the time!

Vytautas writes about his fond memories of building an enormous Tree House and a bridge in the woods when he was eleven. And Tomukas tells us how he discovered that playing with matches wasn't such a good idea, in his story called Fire.

Wired St. Petersburg Learns About SchoolNet Global
Russia, Denmark and Iceland join SchoolNet Global

The British Council's series of Wired Communities seminars is proving a very effective way of helping educators around the world to integrate ICT across the curriculum in their schools.

Bob Hart and Carole Fletcher of Intuitive Media were invited to share their experiences of ICT in education at the latest seminar in Moscow and more recently in St Petersburg. Both events were hugely successful and raised considerable interest in Intuitive Media projects, including SchoolNet Global.

SchoolNet Global into Europe
SchoolNet Global meets European Schoolnet

European SchoolNet promotes collaboration and interchange of ideas and resources between European schools. For the first time they gave schools the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas at the European Schoolnetworks Conference in Brussels.

Intuitive Media Directors, Bob Hart and Carole Fletcher, were invited to do a keynote presentation to 380 pioneering teachers from 30 European countries. Bob and Carole take turns to present, and this time it was Bob's turn.

He presented SchoolNet Global to a very enthusiastic audience who were particularly interested in the project's potential for global education

So watch out over the coming months for more European schools joining the SchoolNet Global community.

From Russia with Love
SchoolNet friends in Moscow

The Russians are coming to SchoolNet Global. Project Directors, Bob Hart and Carole Fletcher travelled to Russia to meet teachers and invite them into schoolnet Global. Alexey Moranov runs the primary school section of Education Centre Izmailovo in Moscow. He and his children use computers in lessons right across the curriculum - music, art, maths and science. They want to link up with schools in Britain and take part in SchoolNet Global, so watch out for their pages in the near future.
