SchoolNet Global members can now collaborate with teachers and children around the world to create projects of common interest.
Our first six projects are the Message for the Future project, led by Colette Cotton, from Folkestone, UK; the My Culture Project, My Country Project and the Sustainability Project, led by Dave Allan from Victoria, British Columbia; and the Road Map to Peace Project, led by Baldev Singh, John Cabot City Technology College, UK. SSLinkS is a fine example of online pubishing supporting international collaboration.

Message for the Future
Children around the world share their hopes and dreams for the future in this exciting global project. Children participating in this project join in the discussion that leads to the discovery of the issues closest to children's hearts across the globe. Observe the emerging consensus of hopes and concerns for the world’s future as expressed by children of many cultures who form this global community of young learners.

SSLinkS
Could you collect, sort, transport and distribute a range of recycled goods to communities in South Africa? Could you conduct an international survey of children's rights, roles and responsibilities across the world? Could you plan, carry out and write up your project in a single term? Children involved in the SSLinkS Project are doing all this, and more! In all SSLinkS projects, children take responsibility for making the project happen. These projects help children develop a creative approach to problem-solving, and promote international and intercultural understanding.

The My Culture Project
Our inherited cultures and traditions are something we carry with us, no matter where in the world we live. They affect our daily lives and those of our friends, neighbours and relatives. In this project, children from around the world are building a rich archive of first hand, personal accounts about different cultures, traditons, religion, music, art and history.

The My Country Project
How we see the country in which we live is very personal and individual. In this project, children give their own perspective on where they live. Discovering a country through the eyes of children will provide a unique insight for children all over the world, helping to develop better international and intercultural understanding.

What is sustainability?
Sustainability is about preserving life on our planet into the future. It means looking after our human needs while preserving nature. If we live beyond nature’s means we will destroy our only home. Wars and conflicts happen when people live in poor or unhealthy conditions, or when they are treated unequally. So, how can we nurture the human race and care for nature – the source of all life?
The Sustainability Project gives you a place to discuss, investigate and present your views on the most pressing issues facing our planet, in our Online Magazines.
