Quilted Fish Box.

Chantal's textile work. I call my artwork: Quilted Fish Box. Ideas my work is based on: I based my work on the sea because it would go with my sea-coloured bedroom. I found my fish in a quilting book and I decided to place this on the top of my box. I quilted it on using pink thread as it stood out from the box. Materials I used: I used purple silk for the base of my box and I then quilted on the fish using pink thread. To get a scaled effect on my fish I cut out red netting and appliqued it over the fish. A red sequin worked well for the eye. Then I got a strip of pink card and I wrapped it around the sides of my box to give it a professional finish.
