Our favourite piece of writing. April Fool by Hal Summers Why I like April Fool. I like this verse: ''The cloud sank from memory The blue sail filled with a breeze He saw the errands of all the birds The husbandry of bees'' I like the poem because it rhymes and I like the imagery the author uses, it gives a good picture. The rain stops, the sun comes out, All the children laugh and shout. They sit in the fields and have fun, Eating the honey, they'll weigh a tonne. The flowers come out to say, Let's ask the children if they will play. The birds come out to sing their tune, While caterpillars make cocoons. The daisies blush with their bright white petals, While lady birds hide in the nettles. The bumble bees buzz all day long, The skunk lifts his tail, what a pong!
