My dad at leisure About David : My name is Alastair and I interviewed my father Dr. David. He works in the Health Centre in Minnigaff, which is in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. As you can tell he is a doctor but he spends most of his day in his car! He travels up to fifty miles in one day because he is usually on call, that means he goes from house to house giving people medicine and making them better. He meets an average of fifty one people in one day and he has a very busy day. He goes to bed at half past eleven at night and so is awake for sixteen and a half hours! When do you think he gets up? I won't tell you his age but it is between 40 and 45. David 's Day David answered the following questions about a typical day: What do you do? Doctor which I've been doing for 16 years 0 month Working Time: David gets up at 07.00, starts work at 09.00 and goes to bed at 23.30 Travelling: David travels for 1.5 hours every day and travels 50 miles mostly by Car Where do you spend most of your day? David spends most of the day in the workplace How much does David enjoy work? Love It How does David use technology in a normal day? He uses lots of technology , for example, car, computer, electronic pager, a number of electronic instruments an, of course, his trusty mobile phone! Leisure: David spends 3 Hours on a favourite leisure pursuit, which is "Inshore and Outshore Fishing" What different kinds of work has David done? My dad has done lots of jobs in his life, like farm work, factory work, inshore fishing and of course a doctor! His favourite leisure pursuit is fishing and he spends three hours a week doing this. He has been a doctor for sixteen years now and I don't think he is going to stop there! David is 41 years old
