David Blunkett's early childhood memory:
My earliest childhood memory is of being in hospital at the Royal Infirmary about my eye sight. At that time they were trying to sort out the problem with my eyes.
Mr. Blunkett said, "I went to school in Sheffield. I enjoyed most of it and my favourite subject was History. My school was not modern at all. We had an outside toilet and the outside building roof leaked (Just like my school). I now keep in touch with 3 or 4 of my old school friends. I phone them at least once a year. I never tell people my nickname but for a change I will tell you. It was Plug I never knew why they called me that! I was born on the 6th of June 1947".
About David Blunkett's early childhood memory:
On the 11th of November 1998 I went to London with my friend Edward McGhee to interveiw Mr David Blunkett. We had to get up at 6.00am because Miss Handson was coming early to pick us up. We caught the 7.20 am train. We should have arrived in London St. Pancras at 9.26 am but the train was late. When we went round the corner to find a taxi there was a really long queue. Finally we got to the D.f.E.E. where we had a short interview with Look North Television about what we were going to do. We had orange juice and biscuits then we sat down on the front row of chairs and we went to Mr Blunkett one by one and shook his hand. We got straight to work asking him questions about his early childhood memories. One of the questions I asked him was did his school roof leak like ours does he replied, " Only the out- buildings did." Then he said, "I'll have to sort out your school." Edward asked him what his job was, "I'm the minister of Education" was his reply. When the interveiw was over Mr Blunkett secretly told Edward and I his secret nickname which was Plug. We told Look North when they interveiwed us after the interveiw. When everything was over Hilary ,Edward,Miss Handson and I went to Tesco to put our information on the Internet. The train journey home was excellent , just like our day was!
David Blunkett is 51 years years old now
